Q: Weather Related Cancellations/Delays

Weather Related Delays/Cancellations: Redeemer Lutheran School follows a 3/5 rule for inclement weather (fog, snow, ice). If three out of the five schools in Howard County (Eastern, Western, Northwestern, Taylor, and Kokomo Center) delay or close, RLS will delay or close. In the event of inclement weather, school closing/delay will be sent out via the FACTS system, Class Dojo, and this website. There will be no AM extended care or breakfast served if there is a 2 hour delay.

A student’s GPA is used to determine Honor Roll/Principal’s List. Physical education/music/choir is part of a student’s GPA.

Safety

Redeemer Lutheran School does have a safety and crisis plan in place. Due to security issues, those plans will not be made public.

Students practice fire, tornado and intruder drills.

Other drills are practiced as well.

Parent Teacher Organization

RLS has a vibrant and growing Parent Teacher Organization that supports the mission of our school and organizes several activities throughout the school year. There is no cost to join and we love having extra volunteers!
