The middle school years are a time of increased responsibility. Students begin managing their work more independently while also growing in how they think, make decisions, and live out their faith.
At this stage, parents want to know their child is being guided through that transition. Students at Redeemer Lutheran are taught how to organize their work, follow through on assignments, and engage with more complex material. Teachers model how to analyze texts, support ideas with evidence, and apply what is learned across subjects.
You can see it in the classroom: students referencing texts to support a written response, working step-by-step through math problems, leading parts of chapel, and taking part in service projects that extend beyond the classroom.
Rooted in Faith
Students engage daily with Scripture through devotions, prayer, and religion classes. Through catechism instruction and chapel participation, they grow in their understanding of God’s Word and how it shapes their decisions, relationships, and actions. This takes shape as students lead parts of chapel, participate in service projects, and apply what they learn from Scripture to real situations.
Independent Learners
Students take ownership of their progress by managing assignments and organizing their work with consistent structure. With these daily habits, they learn to follow through on expectations and complete work with increasing independence.
Critical Thinkers
Students analyze texts, identify evidence, and support ideas in writing and discussion. They use print and digital resources to research and develop responses grounded in what they have learned. To build math fluency, they utilize adaptive learning platforms that provide personalized, real-time feedback.
Prepared for High School
Students build the habits needed for the next level, including organization, written communication, and problem-solving. They practice applying math concepts, interpreting data, and working through multi-step problems to ensure they are ready for the challenges ahead.
Our daughter is in 8th grade at Redeemer Lutheran School. Her experience has prepared her immensely for high school. From the ‘lost skills’ that she has learned such as referencing books, handwriting practice and learning to use her resources to the individual attention that she has received to further her education. We have truly built a family and it is the best decision we made to bring our children here. We genuinely feel that the staff care about our children and have a vested interest in their success and education. We love it here.
We’d love to show you what it looks like when students are known, loved, and challenged to grow spiritually, intellectually, and morally.
