Students take part in visual and performing arts throughout the school year. Every student joins the choir, performing in programs, church services, and community events.
Students also have opportunities to learn instruments, play handbells, and develop their musical skills through instruction and practice. In the classroom, they engage in art through the Artbx program, where they study different artists and create their own work.
Students may also participate in singing festivals and events such as Circle the State with Song.
RLS athletics allow students to compete, improve, and be part of a team that depends on them. Middle school students have the option to participate in volleyball, basketball, bowling, cross country, and track and field. We compete with local schools as well as other Lutheran schools in the area.
Practices and games are where students learn to show up prepared, listen to coaching, and handle both wins and losses with maturity. Coaches set clear expectations for effort, behavior, and sportsmanship, helping students represent their team and their school well.
Students can join clubs and academic teams that challenge them to think, contribute, and engage beyond the classroom. These include Student Council, National Lutheran Honor Society, Bible Bowl, Spell Bowl, and Sci-Fest.
They can take part in the American Sign Language Club, where they learn to communicate through signing and participate in performances. Students can also join our Robotics team and learn how to collaborate and work together to design, build, program, and operate robots for competition.
These experiences allow students to take ownership of their learning, share their ideas, and work toward shared goals.
Service is part of student life at Redeemer Lutheran. Students are encouraged to care for others and show Christ’s love to their community.
Students are invited to give to chapel offerings that support Christian service organizations and take part in projects such as a cereal drive that benefits local food banks. Middle school students also engage in service projects throughout the year, applying their faith in practical ways.
